Starting an online wellness business doesn’t have to be complicated or expensive. These are the 3 must have tools you need to run your business. 

1) A Website

A self-hosted, WordPress website is the best option because it provides greater flexibility and control over the style, hosting and function of your site. 
In order to run your own website, you will need a domain (aka your website address) and a host. For example, Ethical Host offers both domain registration, hosting, reliable service, quarterly payment options and one click installation of software such as WordPress. Hosting starts at $55CAD/year; domain registration $18CAD/year.

Next, you will need a WordPress theme. You can select from a wide range of free options or you can purchase a theme from a marketplace such as Theme Forest. The advantage of a paid theme is they tend to have better customization options and great support if you have any difficulty setting up your site. Quality themes are available for about $60 CAD.

2) Email Provider

An email provider is needed to build and manage your email list. Aweber is my preferred email provider for the wide range of features it offers and affordable pricing (including a FREE plan).

3) Social Media Scheduler

A social media scheduler will simplify the task of remembering when and what to post to your various social media channels. 

If you are only posting to Instagram and Facebook, then the built-in scheduling tool found in the Facebook Business Suite is suitable.

To schedule posts across multiple platforms, a social media scheduler is a valuable time saving tool. Buffer and Later are two of the most common schedulers and offer free plans.
